EXTENSION REBUILD IN BRICK

Newent, Gloucestershire

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

This project in Newent involved the complete removal of an existing white UPVC clad box extension that sat above the rear of the property — an eyesore that didn't match the character of the original brick house at all. The brief was to strip it back and rebuild the upper section entirely in brick to match the existing property.

Once the scaffolding was erected and the UPVC cladding stripped away, the flat roof membrane was laid and the new brickwork was built up course by course, carefully matching the existing brick colour, bond pattern and mortar joint profile. Cavity insulation was installed throughout, and new window openings were formed to match the rest of the house.

The result is a rear elevation that looks like it was always built in brick — a transformation that significantly improves the appearance and value of the property.
